Personal Statement
Andy has over 30 years experience in the medical industry, mostly within Pharmaceuticals. After 3 years in medical research Andy started in the Pharmaceutical industry in 1981. Andy has successfully filled many roles in sales, marketing, training and medical education and is able to deal professionally with customers at all levels from Primary Care up to National Accounts and the likes of the Royal College of General Practitioners.
Andy has worked within Pain Management, Diabetes, Hayfever/Allergy Ophthalmology, COPD/Respiratory, Dermatology, Osteoporosis, Depression, Anxiety, Erectile Dysfunction, G.I., Smoking Cessation, medical equipment and wound care.
Territories recently covered include West Sussex, East Sussex, West Kent, East Surrey and East Hants. Very familiar with West Sussex and most of East Sussex: with good contacts in Primary and Secondary care.
Andy is currently working part time as a self employed fundraiser for the Sussex Air Ambulance and is looking for a full time representative position in Primary/Secondary Care covering West/East Sussex, possibly including adjacent counties.

Sept 2010 to date - Self-employed - Working on various charity fund raising projects and market research projects in the Pharmaceutical Industry.
March 2010 to Sept 2010 - Peter Christian Marketing Management Project setting up various Marketing and HR projects.
October 2006 to March 2010 – Ashfield In2Focus
Nov 2009 to March 2010 – Primary Care representative working on syndicated Ashfield In2Focus team “Apex” selling in COPD, Depression, Wound Care and Osteoporosis.
March 2008 to Oct 2009 – Primary and Secondary Care Representative working on a project with Pfizer. Working on products in Pain, Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Smoking Cessation, Cox2/Arthritis, COPD and Erectile Dysfunction. Also covered hospitals in the pain and diabetes areas due to maternity leave in the Pfizer team until Oct 2008.
Achieved highest Lyrica SvT in the UK during 2008 at 136%
Turned around declining Viagra sales in 2008. As the only person selling Viagra in the first half of 2008 in West Sussex he turned sales around from 84% SvT to 99.25% in 3 months with the top sales in the region during May at 111% SvT
Achieved one of the highest bonus payments for sales in 2008.
Sept 2009 SvT for Lyrica is 115% YTD and 121.19% for the Month.
October 2007 to Feb 2008 Service Provision Executive working on a Nurse Advisor programme in Kent for Ashfield In2Focus in COPD for joint sponsors Boehringer Ingelheim Ltd and Pfizer Ltd. Andy
Exceeded target 140% SvT on a C.O.P.D. Nurse Advisor project in 2007/8 gaining the biggest contract in the UK and maximum bonus payment.
October 2006-September 2007 Territory manager working through Ashfield In2Focus on a one year contract with Grunenthal. This is a new team working for Grunenthal in the area of pain management. Andy was calling in both Primary, Secondary Care and Key Accounts and setting up a programme of opinion leader meetings
The 4th person nationally to gain Hospital Formulary inclusion for Versatis by gaining listing in Brighton & Haywards Heath within 2 weeks of launch and in Chichester/Worthing. Within 6 months of launch.
Selected by Grunenthal HQ in Germany to produce a video report about the progress of the launch phase and was regularly accompanied on territory by visiting directors from Germany when the company wanted to show best practice.
August 2005 to October 2006 - Amdel
Working in a contract as a dedicated representative for Servier Laboratories Limited. Worked West Sussex, East Sussex and East Surrey territory. Selling Protelos in primary care for Fracture Prevention in Post-Menopausal Osteoporosis and Diamicron MR for the treatment of Diabetes. Also given responsibility for managing speaker meetings. Call rate was consistently above the territory average in West Sussex and Brighton. Sales grew consistently on the territory during the project. Integrated well with the Servier team and is involved with all aspects of their sales activities at a territory level.
May 1991 – July 2005
Business Consultant managing various Projects with pharmaceutical and medical equipment/supplies companies within sales, marketing and market research. Those companies included Novartis, GSK, Sanofi, J&J and many other smaller companies. Worked in the fields of ophthalmology, hay fever/allergy, NSAIDs, wound healing, hospital hygiene/safety, medical equipment, and General Practice. Also set up and ran many medical education programmes for both the medical profession and the general public. At the same time as running these projects was also a partner in a print and stationery business specialising in the medical area. Mrs McGregor managed this business on a day-to-day basis. This business went on to become a general print business and was sold.
Also, from May 1996 to July 2004 Andy was a Councillor on Adur District Council. Andy was Chairman of the Scrutiny Committee, this position carries judicial powers, also chaired Employment Tribunals. During this time a great deal of experience was gained regarding planning and employment law.

Joined the Pharmaceutical Division as a Medical Representative covering North Wales and the Wirral. After a successful 3 years was promoted to the marketing department as a Marketing Trainee. Over the next 8 years was promoted through the positions of Assistant Product Manager, Product Manager, Senior Product Manager, Group Product Manager and Marketing Manager. Managed all product ranges in this time including gastrointestinals (Gaviscon, Fybogel & Senokot), Dermatologicals (Timodine, Timoped, Transvasin & Lloyds Cream), analgesics (Temgesic, Disprin, Codis, Disprol) and anti-emetics (Buccastem). Additionally was heavily involved in licensing, product development, clinical trials, staff training and international activities such as training, licensing and acquisitions.
